Assists, documents, upgrades, monitors, troubleshoots, and improves network, telecommunications, and telepresence (video) systems and connectivity. This position performs network and telecommunications/telepresence health checks and monitoring, assists with security audits, equipment and cabling activities, accounts maintenance, and ensures quality of service. This position performs some independent work as well as work under the direction of the Manager of Infrastructure Technology. In addition, provides 1st-tier support for Network Operations Center Administrators where applicable.

  • Installs, replaces, configures and administers (as assigned) wired/wireless network equipment and communications devices
  • Reviews network and communications logs and alerts for corrective actions and/or modifications
  • Performs network monitoring, configuration backups, and disaster recovery
  • Assists administering network and communications rights schemas, quotas, and restrictions as assigned
  • Maintain current knowledge with new and existing network and communications software, hardware, and methodologies to ensure productivity, capability, and return on investment
  • Respond to network issues for staff. Identify problems and coordinate appropriate corrective action
  • Performs cable management and equipment room maintenance



  • Participate on internal task teams, such as Long Range Planning, Short Range Planning. Represent the IT function at review meetings as requested. Participate in programs regarding technical support issues, product offerings, etc.
  • Analyzes future needs for acquisition, disposal, or reuse
  • Maintain and update disaster recovery procedures to ensure recovery and business continuity
  • Report status updated to team for each installation or modification
  • Develops and writes procedures for installation and use of network/communications systems


Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
  • Perform duties during weekends, holidays, late or early shifts as needed
  • Perform job duties remotely (telework) as needed
  • Utilize cell phone for business communications
  • Drive to multiple company locations to perform duties




  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field AND one (1) year experience providing information technology services related to this position; OR, Four (4) years’ experience providing information technology services related to this position; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Certificates from recognized programs that indicate mastery of tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may substitute for up to six months of experience.
  • Experience and understanding of network topologies and infrastructure in a multi-site, multi-VLAN, MPLS WAN environment
  • Understanding of VOIP technologies, products, and services
  • Experience with Network security methods and firewalling
  • Experience with TCP/IP, WAN/LAN wired/wireless/endpoint network device configurations and routing
  • Experience with Cisco router and gateway configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience inter-networking systems and sites
  • Familiarity with multiple network routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in documenting systems, services, and topology using text and diagrams
  • Demonstrated clear and effective systems, procedural, and user documentation creation and maintenance
  • Ability to prioritize and perform tasks involving multiple assignments
  • Demonstrated excellence providing clear and understandable customer service and communication both written and in-person
  • Evidence of valid Arizona driver’s license and current auto insurance
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and perform in a responsible ethical manner

  • Current Network+, CCENT, or equivalent certification
