POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Specialist position is responsible for supporting multiple organizational and departmental projects across Adelante Healthcare. Under the supervision of the Transformation Office Director, the Project Specialist will coordinate, support, and track the development, implementation, and execution of a wide variety of projects and systems supporting organization-wide priorities, strategic initiatives, and collaborative projects led by the Senior and Executive Leadership Teams. This may include process improvement projects, capital projects, department projects, regulatory projects and other collaborative projects with cross-functional teams in the organization. This role will also function as a liaison between and among various departments and business units to support project goals, develop project plans and deliverables, and effectively implement new initiatives.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • One (1) to three (3) years of project experience or related experience in a professional environment, preferably in the healthcare or business operations field
  • Familiarity with project management and Lean Six Sigma processes, methodologies, tools, and industry best practices
  • Knowledge of process and quality improvement
  • Demonstrated project coordination and/or support experience involving projects with varying levels of complexity, scope, budgets, and timelines required
  • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities, and proposes solutions
  • Ability to listen and actively seek information to understand stakeholder expectations, problems, and needs
  • Demonstrated project coordination and/or support experience involving projects with varying levels of complexity required
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, time-management, and planning skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of vendor, regulatory, and administrative staff within the organization and community
  • Ability to perform a variety of assignments requiring considerable exercise of independent judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to work across organizations with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated ability effectively prioritize, multitask, achieve high performance goals, and meet deadlines in a fast paced, agile environment
  • Must be flexible, energetic, and a self-starter
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Teams, OneNote, and PowerPoint. Visio experience is preferred
  • Evidence of valid Arizona drivers license and current auto insurance

POSITION REPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL:

  • Coordinate, support, and/or track the development, design, and implementation of various project documents, communications, applications, and collaboration tools for organization priority initiatives
  • Monitor project data, outcomes, KPIs, and project plans to measure project progress and performance to identify areas for improvement and recommend courses of action
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Support stakeholder, vendor, and project team management by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Provide large group presentations and technical assistance
  • Communicate effectively in both verbal (i.e., day-to-day discussions, team meetings) and written (follow-up, progress reporting, internal/external follow-up) form and have an overall ability to be clear and concise in communication
  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration and alignment to organization quarterly/yearly initiatives and priorities
  • Complete tasks and special projects as assigned by manager and perform other duties as requested
  • Travel to different work sites as necessary, and perform additional job-related duties as requested

NONESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in healthcare environment
  • Any Project Management certifications are an advantage
  • Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance and may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time when traveling to various clinic sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be subject to health hazards (contagious diseases, blood borne pathogens, etc.) when working in the clinic area.
