Do you have a passion for excellence?  Do you enjoy working in a team environment?  Are you intrigued with the Cisco platform of products and services and enjoy looking at network diagrams?  If so, we want you!  Adelante Healthcare is seeking a candidate to be part of our Network team.  The Network Engineer will facilitate network design requirements, manage vendor relationships, troubleshoot network issues at our various locations, assist with equipment replacements and upgrades, organize cabling, validate security, update documentation and service diagrams, and support our suite of unified communication services.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field AND three (3) years experience providing information technology services; OR, Seven (7) years experience providing information technology services; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Certificates from recognized programs that indicate mastery of tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may substitute for up to six months of experience.
  • Experience designing networks with multiple OSI layers
  • Experience and understanding of network topologies and infrastructure in a multi-site, multi-VLAN, WAN, VOIP environment 
  • Experience with network security methods and firewalling
  • Experience with TCP/IP, WAN/LAN, VPN, VOIP,SD-WAN, wired/wireless/endpoint network device configurations and routing
  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) or equivalent certification, CCNE preferred
  • Experience with Cisco router and gateway configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Cisco telephony and telepresence systems
  • Demonstrated experience with inter-networking systems and sites
  • Familiarity with multiple network routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in documenting systems, services, and topology using text and diagrams
  • Demonstrated clear and effective systems, procedural, and user documentation creation and maintenance
  • Demonstrated excellence providing clear and understandable customer service and communication both written and in-person
  • Experience with VOIP administration, products, and services
  • Experience with failover mitigation
  • Experience setting up internal private and external DMZ networks
  • Evidence of valid Arizona drivers license and current auto insurance
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and perform in a responsible ethical manner

POSITION REPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Technical

  • Designs, specifies, acquires, installs, configures and maintains wired/wireless local area network, wide area network, and communications equipment
  • Develop network topology and associative technology integrations
  • Optimizes and manages network security and network performance
  • Analyze changes in software and hardware issued by manufacturer or vendor and determine impact on existing network, network design, operating standards, and operating procedures. Recommend new systems software, hardware, and services to provide networking and communications solutions for business needs.  Review vendor reports and/or visit vendors to observe demonstration of network and communications technologies.  Coordinate the processing of testing procedures for new and modified systems and configurations
  • Review network and communications logs and alerts for corrective actions and/or modifications
  • Performing systems monitoring, log analysis, security, backups, and disaster recovery
  • Develop and administer network and communications rights schemas, quotas, and restrictions
  • Ensure safeguards to eliminate viruses, Trojans, worms, malware, service attacks, and intrusions
  • Coordinate network sweeps and event correlation with Systems Administrators
  • Create and administer network subnets, P2P connections, VPNs, VLANs, tunnels, VOIP integration, telepresence connectivity, and access controls
  • Maintain current knowledge with new and existing network and communications software, hardware, and methodologies to ensure productivity, capability, and return on investment
  • Respond to network issues for staff.  Identify problems and coordinate appropriate corrective action
  • Analyze network and communications business needs presented by user community and/or clients and recommend technical solutions
  • Configure and administer network firewalls, filters, and QoS
  • Administer and facilitate telephony management and services

Administrative

  • Participate on internal task teams, such as Long Range Planning, Short Range Planning.  Represent the IT function at review meetings as requested.  Participate in programs regarding technical support issues, product offerings, etc.
  • Lead network and communications projects with other Network Operations Center staff
  • Primary technical contact between company and existing network/communications vendors
  • Analyzes future needs for acquisition, disposal, or reuse
  • Make network budget recommendations to the CIO
  • Maintain and update disaster recovery procedures to ensure recovery and business continuity
  • Produce detailed time line for each installation or modification and implement effective project control by monitoring the progress of the installation or configuration and reporting the status
  • Provide cross-training with peers
  • Facilitates projects and communications between Adelante Healthcare and network service and communications providers
  • Enforces  and recommends network and communications policies, procedures and standards, ensuring conformance with information systems and strategic objectives
  • Develops and writes procedures for installation, use and solving problems with network and communications systems
  • Develop unified communications strategies
  • Lead role with network and communications design and implementations
  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
