This position is responsible for supervising and managing the Behavioral Health Technicians. They may also keep a patient care day allowing them to continue to serve our clients in the health centers and work with other internal and external resources in meeting/achieving client service needs.

  • Masters Degree in Behavioral Health field, required
  • Independent licensure in Behavioral Health field, required
  • Minimum of one (1) to five (5) years of behavioral health experience, required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with State AHCCCS and Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) clients, preferred
  • Experience in clinical supervision highly preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with using an Electronic Health Record (EMR) system
  • Strong time management skills
  • Knowledge of Arizona Department of Health Services requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of current versions of DSM and ICD
  • Ability to support, train, and supervise a team of technicians
  • Ability to provide effective and respectful quality care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural beliefs and practices
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
  • Valid Arizona drivers license
  • Certification to perform cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for the Health Care Professional (CPR) and AED through courses that follow the guidelines from the American Heart Association and Red Cross (cognitive and skills evaluations)
  • Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for all specialty behavioral health locations


  • Participates as the primary source of support and training for the BH Technicians. Provides oversight and clinical supervision to BH Technicians including case reviews, one on one and group support, chart sign off and mid/annual reviews.
  • Participates in regular interdisciplinary staff meetings.
  • Helps BH Technicians develop appropriate service delivery skills with providers and clients as the means for implementing applicable services and developing effective alliances with clients.
  • Assist IBH Manager with tracking of data, including the generation of reports that will allow follow-through on quality of care.
  • Establishes and maintains partnerships in the community.
  • Provides direct client services to individuals and/or family members. Services provided may include care coordination, skills training, health promotion, crisis intervention, arrangement of transportation, supportive employment services, and others depending on client need. Services may be provided in office, home, school, or community settings, as needed.
  • Provides on-going supportive and/or technician functions in accordance with the problems, needs and the strategies identified by the client or the provider to assist the client to achieve whole health.
  • Provides clinical supervision with the staff on a regular basis. Ensures staff are comfortable and confident in education/health promotion strategies and allows for staff to share experience and resources. The frequency of supervision will be determined by BHT Clinical Supervisor.
  • Documents all service contacts on a timely basis including face-to-face interviews, collateral and networking contacts, correspondence and maintains the case records in accordance with internal and regulatory standards requirements.
  • Maintains close communication with the consulting physician and the Behavioral Health team for input regarding PRAPARE, Self-Management Goals (SMGs), referrals, intervention strategies and coping skills and alerts integrated care team of any changes in client adjustment which might suggest decompensation and a need for more aggressive intervention.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Behavioral Health leadership team, which are consistent with the position and in compliance with Adelante Healthcare policies and procedures.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance and may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time when traveling to various clinic sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be subject to health hazards (contagious diseases, blood borne pathogens, etc.) when working in the clinic area.
