Adelante Healthcare Center Support Offic - Phoenix, AZ

Primarily responsible for assisting with grant accounting, month end close, journal entry preparation, bank reconciliations, and other day to day accounting functions as needed. Will perform assignments, which can vary from routine to exceptional in nature and are carried out with minimal guidance in accordance with clinic office practices, procedures and precedents. Works under the general supervision of the Finance Director.

Will observe policies concerning punctuality and attendance and report unscheduled absences in accordance with departmental procedures and have six (6) or fewer occurrences of unscheduled absences in a twelve (12) month period. Will dress according to the dress code policy of Adelante Healthcare.

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in a health care accounting or any combination of acceptable training and experience to perform required functions
  • Strong computer efficiency with Excel and accounting programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform full charge bookkeeping through month-end closing and financial statement preparation
  • Ability to perform a variety of assignments requiring prioritization skills
  • Ability to meet and deal effectively with associates and the general public
  • Excellent business English, spelling, and punctuation skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Competency in dealing with people of various cultures


  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office
  • MAS 500 experience
  • NextGen or similar software experience
  • Experience with grant accounting
  • Experience reading and interpreting contract language

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time when traveling to various clinic sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be subject to health hazards (contagious diseases, blood borne pathogens, etc.) when working in the clinic area.
